A. School
* Name and History
The San Luis Barangay High School was operated year 1975 in
cooperation of the PTA officials and members, Brgy Officials
through the initiative of the school head of the elementary.
The school enrolment is rapidly increasing and it comes the
DepEd executive order that those high school inside the
elementary compound is required to have their own school
site and the San Luis NHS is lucky enough to have a lot with
a measurement of 10,000 sq.m. donated by the Municipality of
Rosales headed by Hon. Mayor Remegio P. Yu. This site is
situated at the hilly portion of the community which they
call it “Golden Hills” there's no trees grown here only
cogon. Year 1993 the 2 buildings erected followed by another
2 buildings with 2 classroom each in the year 1995. Little
by little we have developed the school because of the full
cooperation of students, teachers, PTCA, Brgy. Officials,
the Municipal Officials and our Congressman.
Type of School
The San Luis National High School is a nationally funded
with eleven personnel consist of one (1) Principal III, one
(1) Head Teacher III, one (1) Master Teacher I, three (3)
Teacher III, one (1) Teacher II, three (3) Teacher I and
also include two(2)LSB funded teachers.
B. Community
* Socio-cultural
People in the community are likewise God fearing. There were several
sectors based in the community like the Iglesia ni Cristo, Roman Catholic,
Apostolic Faith Mission, Christian Church Mission, Jehovah Witness and
these mentioned sector have their own chapel for worshipping. People here
are workaholic but sometimes they spend their time in sports like
basketball, volleyball etc.
* Political
There are eleven (11) baranggay as the catchment area of the San Luis NHS and all the Brgy.
Officials get involved in the school activities specially in the
improvement of the school. They voluntarily commit theirself in helping us
through manpower as well as cash and material donations. Likewise the
Municipal Officials and the Congressman extend their supports in the
implementation of the school programs and projects. The Congressman
provided 2 buildings with 2 classroom each. The Municipal Officials also
provide us the Multipurpose hall, fence and other LGU provided pavements
from the gate up to school buildings.
* Geographical
Among the 37
barangay's of the Municipality of Rosales is Barangay San Luis. It is
located on the Southern part of the town. It is approximately 3km away
from the boundary of the provinces of Pangasinan and Nueva Ecija. From the
town proper, it takes 20-25 minutes travel by jeepney and 3--35 minutes by
tricycle. The community is an agricultural land/place. Rice and corn are
the primary crops. There are more than 400 families living by this
districts.
* Economy
Barangay San Luis is an agricultural place, a community of
farmers and a developing community. Since time immemorial,
the people live by farming and animal raising. The economic
stability of this community was marked by the yearly
increase in crop production and yields. This was so because
farmers have come to realize that the application of modern
farming methods is another factor that contributed in
lefting up or improving the standard of living of many
families/ residents. Some of them send their children in
college, finish a degree and earn a diploma. Some went
abroad. Now, there were number of successful professionals
in this community here and abroad.
